How to Prepare for Auto Transport
Get Your Vehicle Ready for a Smooth Shipment
Proper preparation helps ensure your shipment arrives safely, on time, and without added charges. Whether you're booking auto shipping nationwide, car delivery service, or personal auto transport, please follow the checklist below.
1.
Fuel & Battery Levels
Vehicles must have no more than ¼ tank of fuel at pickup.
If your vehicle is electric, please charge the battery as close to 100% as possible.
2.
Clean Exterior & Interior
Wash or spray off the outside of your vehicle before pickup.
Remove trash and clutter inside.
3.
Remove Personal Items
All personal items must be removed unless pre-approved.
If included, items must be:
- Under windows or in the trunk
- Not to exceed 100 lbs
- Free of any restricted items
Do not leave firearms, illegal substances, pets, alcohol, flammable items, or valuables inside.
For international shipping, all non-factory items must be removed
Note: Posey Logistics Inc. and our contracted carriers are not responsible for personal belongings left in the vehicle.
4.
Exterior Preparation & Safety Measures
Repair any cracks or chips in windows ahead of transport.
Secure or remove loose parts like antennas, spoilers, fog lights, and damaged convertible tops.
Turn off all alarm systems prior to pickup.
Vehicles not properly prepared may delay loading or incur damage not covered under liability.
5.
Inoperable Vehicles
If your car does not run, you must inform Posey Logistics before booking.
Vehicles must be able to brake, roll, and steer to be transported.
